Intro to Microsoft Small Business Server 2008

Brian NelsonAll of the media attention goes to those big enterprise IT operations, and rightfully so. After all, those are the systems and networks that power the Fortune 500, the blue chip backbone of American business.

But, there is another segment of American business out there, and Microsoft knows that they need full functionality server-based architecture too.

With the release earlier this year of Windows Server 2008, it is only natural that Windows Small Business Server 2008 be close behind. Windows SBS 2008 is scheduled for launch on November 12.

Microsoft Web Platform Installer Beta

Dave LawlorIt isn't often that a new piece of Windows technology takes me by surprise or really knocks my socks off, but I have to say the IIS team has really done it this time.

If you have been around Apache Web servers for any amount of time you have probably seen or used a program called Fantastico De Lux which would easily auto install applications to your Apache web server.

Well now the IIS team has released an auto installer for IIS7 that has that same kind of functionality.

The Microsoft Web Platform Installer gives you a single interface for installing Microsoft's entire Web Platform and Tools.

However, out in the wild, where companies and sites receive no money or partner benefits, the standard platform for streaming media is almost 100% Adobe Flash.

All that may have just changed ...

Train Signal & Our Social Networks

Kasia GrabowskaEarlier this year we made the Inc 5000 list as the number 12 fastest growing educational company in the U.S. and number 1,098 overall.

Last week Inc. Magazine posted an article about our little company and our use of social networks on their Start-Up Blog.

Scott Skinger, Founder and President of Train Signal along with Iman Jalali, our Director of Sales & Marketing were interviewed about how we use social networks
-- including Train Signal Training -- to reach out to our audience.

You might be surprised to know that besides this blog we actively use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to connect with each other and people all over the world.
