Windows Server 2008 is almost here, and with it a brand new command shell environment to be utilized. Microsoft released the brand new command line interface, aptly titled Windows PowerShell, in 2006 and has integrated it in Windows Server 2008.

In this article, I’ll give you an introduction to the features and capabilities of Windows PowerShell and explain how it can be a useful administrative tool. I’ll also go over the installation steps, since PowerShell is not a default Windows Component. I’ll finish up the article with some basic methods for accessing PowerShell.
