With the introduction of the R2 version of Windows Server 2008, Microsoft has introduced a number of new features. There are many behind the scenes features that have been added to increase the overall efficiency and productivity of Windows Server 2008, but there are also a few interface updates as well.
In this free video series I am going to focus on the updates to Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in Server 2008 R2 and show you what’s new in the AD Administrative Center, AD Best Practices Analyzer and AD Offline Domain Join.
Active Directory Administrative Center
In today’s video we focus on the new Active Directory Administrative Center. This is a new tool which can enhance the way administrators manage Active Directory objects. With the AD Administrative Center you can create and manage user accounts, groups, computer accounts, and Organizational Units (OUs). This tool also gives you the flexibility to manage multiple domains from a single instance of the utility. There are also some advanced query building search options which can help you filter through your Active Directory data and locate the objects you want to manage more efficiently.
