6 Ways to Solve Memory Performance Issues in VMware vSphere

Software:

In this video from my new VMware vSphere Performance Monitoring Training I’ll explain 6 ways that you can solve memory performance issues in your vSphere environment.

First we’ll talk about how you can determine where the memory utilization is coming from and if that utilization is valid in the first place. You’ll be surprised at how many memory hogs you can find from nonessential applications. We’ll also talk about how to “rightsize” your virtual machines to ensure that each of them has the right amount of RAM configured for optimal performance.

Next, I’ll show you how you can reallocate resources in a resource pool and how to put a memory limit (also known as a cap) on your virtual machine. If you’re using vMotion or DRS, I’ll show you how to perform a load rebalance and how to add more memory to the host or add another server to the cluster.
