Rick Scherer is one of the very few VCDX certified professionals in the world and a vSpecialist at EMC within the VMware Alliances organization. He’s also an author and speaker, and founder of VMwareTips.com, a popular online resource for virtualization professionals.
We’ve been lucky to work with Rick on our VMware vSphere Pro Series Training Volume 1, in which Rick contributed four lessons on the Cisco Nexus 1000V, a third party virtual distributed switch for vSphere.
At this year’s Cisco Live conference in Las Vegas, I got a chance to talk to Rick about the new and exciting announcements happening at the event this year and what should IT pros be paying attention to in 2011. Rick also shared his advice on how Cisco professionals can get up to speed with virutalization and cloud computing. We also talked about Rick’s plans for the rest of the year and his upcoming presentation at VMworld 2011.

My apologize for mucking up Frank Denneman’s role…he is actually with VMware and is a rockstar!
You’re both rock stars.
