Microsoft Career FactorMicrosoft’s Career Factor is a reality show where 8 IT professionals receive training and career help and share their stories online through videos and social media.

The goal is to help IT professionals see how they can advance their careers and reach their professional goals. You can connect with each of the Career Factor participants and learn from their experiences. The Career Factor website also offers career tips, certification information, videos, and links to resources along with updates from each of the participants.

Heather Ackmann helps Career Factor participants with their resumes

Recently, Train Signal’s instructor Heather Ackmann hosted a workshop for Career Factor participants on IT Resume and CV Writing. The session focused best practices, standards and techniques for resume and CV writing. In the video, Heather reviewes the resumes of all the Career Factor participants and offered tips and advice on how they can improve their resumes.

The workshop is very in-depth and geared specifically to IT professionals. You’ll learn about the different types of resumes and curriculum vitae, how to make yours stand out and see examples of what to do and what not to do on your own resume and CV.
