Sweet Friday Link Love — My New Friends!

So yesterday I got a chance to go to BlogWell to learn a little more about how big companies use social media.

We’re not a big company at all (there’s only like 18 of us here) but I did learn a lot about blogs, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other social media and how to best utilize it to benefit our readers (You!).

I also made a few friends and although their blogs have nothing to do with computers, or training or the IT world, I thought you still might be interested in them.

And just to make you all jealous, I’m showing off my BlogWell goodie bag :) and yes, that is dark chocolate you see!

My BlogWell goodie bag!

  • All of you Sharpie enthusiasts check out the Sharpie Blog. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see all of the great Sharpie art, celebrities using Sharpies, some great ideas on how to use Sharpies and a lot more. Susan Wassel who runs the site was giving away Obama Sharpies at yesterday’s event, but I missed my chance to get one.
  • Do you like beer? Then check out the Molson in the Community blog. Yesterday I learned that it’s bad to keep your mugs in the freezer because when the beer is poured into a frozen glass it oxidizes and becomes flat. Who knew?
  • And last but not least, I’d like to give props to Andy Sernovitz and his Damn! I wish I’d thought of that! site (and a thank you for a free copy of his Secret and Mysterious Order of Word of Mouth, which I’ve already started reading!). Andy’s site is for marketers but if you know anyone who owns or runs a business then spread the word.
