Do you take pride in your PowerShell skills and think you can go head-to-head with Microsoft PowerShell MVP Jeff Hicks? Do you like to win swag? If so, keep reading…
To celebrate the launch of his new course, PowerShell v3 New Features, Hicks is challenging TrainSignal readers to solve PowerShell puzzles all week long.
How the contest works:
-Every day this week, we’ll post a question from Hicks on our blog at 10:30 a.m. CST. All of the puzzles will be based on an out-of-the-box PowerShell v2 session (in case most people don’t already have v3) and can be answered with a one-line command, but you have to figure out how to determine the solution.
-Once you’ve solved the puzzle, send your answer, name, email address and phone number to dana[at]trainsignal.com with “PowerShell Challenge” in the subject line.
-Follow @JeffHicks and @TrainSignal on Twitter for clues to help you solve the puzzles.
-We’ll announce the correct answer on the blog the following day, along with the new question.
-View the official rules.
Prizes:
-A randomly selected daily winner from the pool of people who submit correct answers will receive a TrainSignal T-shirt.
-If you submit correct answers every day of the contest (Tuesday-Friday), you’ll be entered in the grand prize drawing to win a copy of Hicks’ PowerShell v3 New Features course!
Ready to impress us? Let’s kick this contest off with Hicks’ first question.
Question No. 1:
How many out of the box cmdlets in PowerShell v2 use the Computername parameter?
