New Microsoft Certifications for 2007

Microsoft has announced new structures of certifications in light of the Vista release. These new certifications continue to focus on job roles and the associated technology.

  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows Vista, Configuration
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Consumer Support Technician
  • MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician

If you are a current MCDTS or have only taken one of the required tests (70-271 or 70-272), Microsoft has recommended that you complete your MCDTS certification to take advantage of the one test upgrade path.

The upgrade test will be available in early 2007 at a discount to current MCDTS certification holders.
