Microsoft’s Second Shot Exam Offer is Back!

Almost exactly a year ago I posted about Microsoft’s Second Shot offer which gives you a second chance on your Microsoft certification exam — for free!

Well the offer is back — and for a limited time you can get a free second shot on your Microsoft exam, in case you don’t pass the first time around.

All Microsoft Learning IT professional, developer, or Microsoft Dynamics exams qualify for the Second Shot offer.

Here’s How it Works:

You will received one free retake for each paid Microsoft exam that you don’t pass when you register at Microsoft Learning.

Once you sign up for the Second Shot offer you will receive an exam voucher number.

Then you can schedule and pay for your first exam through the Prometric Website or a test center — but you must sign up for the Second Shot offer first and have the voucher number ready before you register for the actual exam.

Then you take your first exam. If you pass — congratulations! You obviously don’t need a second shot.

If you don’t pass on your first try, no worries — you signed up for the Second Shot offer and have a free chance at passing the exam. When you register for your free retake use the same voucher number.

The only limit is that you wait one day after taking your first exam before registering for your retake.

And the offer is good until June 30, 2009.

Update 11/16/2008 — Second Shot Double Incentive

I just found out that Second Shot now offers two incentives to get certified — the one I talk about above and now a reward for passing the exam on your first try!

What’s the reward — 25% off your next exam!

This new offer is valid from October 15 through December 31, 2008 and here’s how it works:

You must register for Second Shot (see above instructions) and take your exam before December 31, 2008.

If you fail the exam you get to take your retake exam for free — but you must take it before June 30, 2009.

If you pass your exam, you will get 25% off your next exam — and you have until February 28, 2009 to utilize this discount.
