If you haven’t heard, there’s this whole thing about the world ending tomorrow. Whether it’s one of our last days on Earth or not, today seemed like a fine time to reflect on the geeky things we’ll regret missing out on if we do wind up partying with the Mayans in the afterlife come December 21.
I asked the TrainSignal team to finish the sentence, “If the world ends tomorrow, I’ll regret…”
Gary Eimerman, Director of Product Development:
…I never de-cluttered all those wires under my desk.
…I never got to see Halo as a movie.
…never making a fully functional Iron Man costume.
…never beating Myst.
…never backing up my MP3 collection to the cloud.
Zach Behrman, Corporate Sales and Support Specialist:
…that I will not see what common Android features Apple unveils as game-changing upgrades on the iPhone 5S.
…never seeing the release of Half-Life 3.
Jeff James, Editorial Director at Petri:
…never seeing the legions of rabid Apple and Microsoft fanboys (and fangirls) finally realizing they’re more alike than different and simply ‘hugging it out.’ “Can’t we all just get along?”
Brian Green, Product Innovation Lead:
…that I never actually created a “strong” password.
Gosia Niklinski, Product Team Manager:
…not using all my MB on my data plan.
…not sharing my computers in the house for easy file access.
…not creating my personal blog.
Emilie Totten, Marketing Team Manager:
…that I never owned a damn tablet. So much for BYODing it in the Mayan afterlife.
Piper Lawson, UX Designer:
…never being able to stay awake through a “Star Wars” movie.
Me, Dana Gagnon, Managing Editor:
…never creating that app that I’m convinced could make millions. And, no, I’m not telling you what it is…just in case…
