Jason Boche is one of the very few VMware Certified Design Experts (VCDX) in the world; in fact there are less than 100 people who hold the designation at this time according to VMware’s official VCDX Directory. Jason is also a VCP, VCAP and VMware vExpert with over 13 years of experience in the IT field.
Jason is heavily involved in the VMware community, lending a hand as the Minneapolis area VMware user group leader, VMware communities user moderator and frequent VMware/VMTN communities roundtable podcaster. Jason’s also shares his knowledge and expertise on his blog boche.net/blog and Twitter @jasonboche, including the evolution of his home lab, which is pretty amazing; you can read about it here.
VCDX Talk with Jason Boche and David Davis
Since there are so few people who have achieved the prestigious VCDX certification, we wanted to get some tips and advice from Jason about what the VCDX process is really like.
In the video, David and Jason talk about the VCDX certification, who should be pursuing it and how. Jason talks about the VCDX requirements, which now include not only the VCP (VMware Certified Professional) but also the new VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional) certification and says that the exam requires a good mesh of technical, presentation, design and architecture skills as the VCDX is geared more towards architects and consultants. Jason also points out that “just because you’re a good VCP doesn’t mean that you’re VCDX material,” saying that not everyone is cut out for the advanced design path.
